Remember that puppy love from our youth…
When excitement was abounding in our every moment
When we couldn’t stop thinking about our one “true love”
When our notebooks were filled with heart shaped-doodles (ok, maybe more of a girl thing)
When trees had our initials and theirs carved into them
Before we were so afraid of rejection that we didn’t even attempt to pass that note in class
Before we were so preoccupied with what task had to be completed next
Before life became so grown-up…
Notice that moment again when it comes and try to hold on
Notice how you can’t stop thinking about that woman you found so beautiful the instant your eyes locked with hers
Notice how your heart raced when you looked up to see that handsome man holding the door open for you as you stepped out of a building
Notice how you stumble over your thoughts (and then your words đ when you try to chat with that one co-worker with whom you share so many laughs and cannot wait to see everyday
That puppy love we used to feel that emcompassed our every thought, shaped our every decision on where to go or what to wear…it’s still there, waiting to be awakened
Living in the moment is more than being present. It is more than a state of mind. It is a state of heart. It is the rush of emotions that makes us feel alive, feel connected, feel hope.
Think about that special someone. Let the moment awaken you, and, when it does, chills run through your body, your heart feels like it’s heating your body with each beat, and a smile sneaks across your face. Feels good, doesn’t it? =)
